An allocation of emergency funding to two Mayo schools has been welcomed locally by Fine Gael TD Michelle Mulherin.
The funding has been approved for St Attracta's National School in Charlestown, and Scoil Iosa NS, Abbeyquarter, Ballyhaunis.
The emergency works at St Attracta's is for approved heating works, including the replacement of an oil burner, while the work at Scoil Iosa is to divert overhead power lines underground.
“This is good news for both schools and the emergency works will benefit both pupils and staff. I am delighted that they are being funded for this much needed urgent works,” said Deputy Mulherin.
