Claremorris Drama festival is ready for its 43rd instalment

The 43rd Claremorris Drama Festival will take place from March 8 to 18, 2013, with An Taoiseach Enda Kenny performing the official opening on Friday, March 8. Tickets for each show are prices at €13 for adults, €9 for OAPs and students, €5 for children and a limited number of season tickets are available for €75.

First up on Friday, March 8 are Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama group with their production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane. On Sunday, March 9 it’s the turn of Conna Dramatic Society with The Lonesome Way, with Garrymore Drama Group putting on Dancing at Lughnasa the following day, Monday March 11.

The Corofin Dramatic Society presents The Bog of Cats on Tuesday, March 12 with Riverside Theatre Company putting on a production of Sharon’s Grave on Wednesday, March 13. There is no show on Thursday, March 14 and the festival will return on Friday, March 15 with Compántas Lir’s presentation of The Way You Look Tonight. The Ballyduff Drama Group will stage Dancing at Lughnasa on Saturday Mary 16, with The Rasper Player putting on Carthaginians on St Patrick’s Day, Sunday March 17. The final night of the festival on Monday, March 18 sees the Haulbowline Theatre Group’s production of Not now, Darling. All shows start at 8pm. Running across the first weekend of the festival from Friday, March 8 to Monday March 11 will be the fringe festival where two short plays will be staged each night.
