A man did not know the dangers of tampering with an ESB meter, Ballina District Court heard.
On July 7 2011 an ESB technician called to the home of Martin Collins, 36 Bunree Road, Ballina. The meter was found to have a hole drilled in it. A new meter was installed which was paid for by Collins. The undercharge of over €200 has also been paid by the defendant.
Collins was convicted and fined €300 by Judge Mary Devins.
