A new seaweed cosmetic company, Atlanticus which is based in Geesala, Erris, has had one of its products selected at Showcase Ireland as one of the top new Irish products. The new product, Thalasso, is one of a range of products manufactured by Atlanticus and is a natural seaweed indulgent bath product, with seaweed sourced from the west of Ireland, dead sea salts, calendula, rose, and dried lavender with an array of essential oils.
Selected by Showcase Ireland from thousands of entries, Thalasso proved very popular with interest from many home, Japanese, and US buyers at the show. Other products made by the company include Oceanus, a natural seaweed based face moisturiser which includes the skin tightening agent Chondrus crispus, a creamy seaweed face mask, and a unique seaweed soap.
All products are natural and are very effective. More products such as face gel, seaweed body scrub, and shower gel are to be added to the range in April this year.
Atlanticus uses miron violet glass from Germany to package all its products, which is not only very attractive but also protects against the harmful effect of light and helps give the products longer life.
