At every good-times gathering of joke-telling friends, invariably there is always a joke told that belongs to this legend of comedy - a priceless one-liner, or one of his bizarre stories told in a Scottish accent. But no one can do it like ‘The Big Yin’ himself, Billy Connolly, who is finally coming to Castlebar and will take to the stage in the Royal Theatre on Tuesday April 30. Tickets have gone on sale from today and are priced at €54.25 and €49.25.
Billy will be bringing his The Man Live’ show to Mayo for what promises to be a great night of laughter and entertainment.
Billy has lived the life and has laughed at every turn. After an apprenticeship as a welder in his hometown of Glasgow, he became a professional performer in 1962, forming The Humblebums band with Gerry Rafferty, before pursuing a solo career as a comedian. Connolly found cult success through his stand-up and live comedy albums. He has toured worldwide continuously for the last 50 years, and has appeared on television and movie screens in a number of different roles over the years, as recently as in the latest movie production of JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit.
Tickets, €54.25 and €49.25, went on sale from 9am this morning, Friday, February 15 from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and online or from the Royal Theatre Box office on 0818 300 000 or 094 9023111
