An island which had been owned by a man who appeared in the Secret Millionaire show on RTE has been sold for more than €2.85m.
Businessman Nadim Sadek purchased Inishturk Beg, which is 65 acres, in 2003. The Clew Bay island was subsequently placed in the control of receivers and Knight Frank Ireland (KFI ) and Sherry FitzGerald was appointed as joint agent.
The sale included five island houses on the island, a pier, a floating marina, and a large main residence which is a two storey house with six bedrooms, with an adjacent leisure complex and a large indoor heating swimming pool and jacuzzi.
The new owner is reported to be from the UK and is expected to move to the island later in the year.
