Mystery continues to surround Mayo man’s disappearance

The mysterious circumstances surrounding the disappearance of international property tycoon Kevin McGeever, who is originally from Meelick, Swinford, has led to more bizarre revelations, as the 68-year-old is apparently wanted by Interpol in relation to a property deal in Dubai.

Mr McGeever was found wandering in a dishevelled state on a road near Ballinamore on Wednesday last week. The word ‘thief’ had been inscribed on his forehead and he gave gardaí sketchy information about his whereabouts saying that he was kidnapped from his home in Craughwell, Co Galway, on May 27 and was held captive in a darkened container, where he was fed a ham sandwich and water on a daily basis. He claims that his kidnappers demanded €10 million in ransom.

His partner Siobhan O’Callaghan reported him missing on June 22 at Gort Garda Station. After his disappearance she received three texts from his phone which were traced to mobile networks in the UK and Germany.

Mr McGeever had previously been held by Dubai police in relation to his property dealings.
