Fresh from their appearance on the Late Late Show last Friday night, Edinburgh based alt-folk stars Southern Tenant Folk Union are returning to Ireland for a nine date tour this month. Their second stop on the tour will be in Ballina at the Ballina Arts Centre, next Friday, February 8 at 8pm. Tickets for the show cost €15 and more information is available from www.ballinaartscentre.com or by calling 096 73593.
Monday, February 4, sees the release of the fifth Southern Tenant Folk Union album Hello Cold Goodbye Sun a collection of new and original material written by five of the award winning Scottish collective’s members.
With a more difficult and emotionally charged pre-production process than on previous albums, the band have developed a set of songs that build on some of the soundscape folk from the acclaimed fourth album Pencaitland as well as showcasing the growing songwriting, instrumental and vocal talent within the group.
