Coláiste Néifinn is now enrolling for 2013 courses

Coláiste Néifinn is an Irish summer college in Castlebar that caters for the learning of the Irish language for 12 to 18 year olds. This college is bringing to life our native language in a new and innovative way. The co-ordinators are two local Irish teachers, and they will be assisted by a range of experienced teachers. All the teachers have taught in several Gaeltacht colleges and bring a plethora of knowledge and hands on experience to Coláiste Néifinn.

At present as part of the Leaving Certificate assessment students are awarded 40 per cent of their total marks in Irish for their oral Irish examination. Now more schools are taking the option of preparing their students for the oral Irish Exam for Junior Cert. This is an exciting prospect for all Irish enthusiasts.

According to the organisers, the best way to learn a language is to be actively involved in it in a fun way. In order to capture the fun in active learning classes, sports, music, dancing, a tour and other activities will feature in Coláiste Néifinn and the days will be action packed from 10am to 5pm.

An enrolment night will take place in the Harlequin Hotel, Castlebar on Friday, February 28 and in The McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris on Friday, March 1 at 7pm. The college is extremely affordable with a course costing €230, including a non refundable deposit of €50 which is required to secure a place.

The Castlebar courses will run for 12 to 18 year olds from June 24 to July 5 and from July 8 to July 19.
