Music fans from all over Connacht are planning to congregate in the Wyatt Hotel in Westport for an event that is being billed as the Charity Night of the Stars on Monday December 15 at 9pm.
Local Westport performer, John Staunton, is the man behind the event, which as well as showcasing John’s new album will also raise funds for the Friends of Cystic Fibrosis in Mayo and the new respiratory unit at Mayo General Hospital, with €5 from every sale of his album Starting Over on the night going to charity
Among the many stars scheduled to perform on the night are Robert Mizell and the Country Kings; Frank McCaffrey; John and Caroline Eaton; Elaine Boyle; Kevin Prendergast; the Sheerin Brothers; Olcan Masterson and Tom O’Grady. A number of other performers are expected to be added to the bill ahead of the event. Local music journalists, Michael Commins and Henry McGlade, will be the MCs on the night.
