A 51-year-old farmer who drove his van through a red light was before Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
Michael Hunter, Mullauns, Ballina was observed by Garda James O’Reilly driving his van through a red light on Teeling Street on July 23 2012 at 2.45pm.
A fixed charge penalty notice was issued to Hunter but was not paid.
The defendant’s solicitor, Peter Loftus said that his client recalls driving through an orange light, not a red light.
Judge Mary Devins directed that Hunter pay €100 to St Vincent de Paul.
