This February, Mayo Youth Orchestra will join choice young national music ensembles, to perform at the 18th Festival of Youth Orchestras in the National Concert Hall.
This Sunday January 13, the WhistleBlast Quartet will conduct a workshop for the youth orchestra in St Patrick’s National School, Castlebar, in preparation for the recital. Members are urged to attend and enjoy the focus of performing at national level on February 9.
The workshop runs from 11am to 4pm, followed by a short recital for family and friends at 4.30pm. The programme will include National Concert Hall pieces, along with fresh new material.
