Mayo Fine Gael TD John O'Mahony has welcomed the news that approximately €100,000 is being spent on refurbishments at the Dalton Community Unit in Claremorris. According to Deputy O'Mahony the investment will enable the unit meet and comply with HIQA standards and prepare for the next audit due in 2015.
“HIQA audits not only focus on care standards but also on the infrastructure of the facility. From that perspective this investment is indeed very welcome and it will play a key role in the process of achieving certification at the time of next audit,” he said.
Dep O’Mahony explained the refurbishments include upgrading of fire systems, upgrading of day room facilities, relocation of the oratory, upgrading of laundry facilities, and the upgrading of toilets and showers.
