Posties hit the road to Clifden

The staff of An Post Westport did not make life easy for themselves when they decided to have their Christmas party in Clifden, the catch was they had to cycle to get there.

The novel idea was introduced in August, three months prior to the off, giving everyone a chance to get fit for the 70K journey. Under the guidance of Noel Brady as coach training plans were adopted and no stone was left unturned, in fact such was the progress that uniforms had to be taken to dress makers to get taken down a few sizes such was the weight loss.

At 10.20am on November 24, 14 brave souls headed into the fog towards Leenane en route to Clifden. All 14 cyclist made it to Clifden enjoying the beautiful facilities of the hotel and the party lasted long in to the night.
