For two nights only this heart-warming exploration of friendship and life written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom comes to the Royal Theatre, Castlebar. This performance will be directed and produced by Breda Cashe, and performed by Terry Byrne as Morrie Schwartz and Andy Murray as Mitch Albom. It will take to the stage in the Royal Theatre on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 2013 wit doors opening at 7pm and the show taking place at 8pm. Tickets cost €20 for adults and €16 with a concession or €12 for a child and would make the perfect Christmas gift for someone in your life.
The performance is an autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie's appearance on a television news programme and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit, turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. It will make you cry, think, feel but above all it will make you laugh.
