Mayo Women’s Support Services in collaboration with Mayo Rape Crisis Centre will host a number of awareness raising events throughout the 16 Days of Action Opposing Violence Against Women.
One event taking place includes a lilies ritual, which will be held in Castlebar at 1pm at the river behind the Church of the Holy Rosary on December 10. This ritual will commemorate the women who have lost their lives, women who are missing, women who are subject to rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse, and women who are trafficked and forced into prostitution.
