Four Hospice shops to open across Mayo

Mayo Roscommon Hospice is delighted to inform supporters of the opening of four new Hospice shops across Mayo before Christmas.

The foundation, which currently has shops operating in Swinford, Castlerea, Roscommon town, and Boyle, is set to open the new shops in Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Ballina, and Castlebar in the hope that these new locations will help fill the huge deficit of more than €300,000 in fundraising efforts experienced to date this year.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of these premises across Mayo,” said Monica Brogan fundraising manager Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

“Our existing shops are a huge success and they are a true testimony to the volunteers who so willingly give their time to help out. This year has been extremely difficult for us in terms of fundraising, and income for the majority of our annual fundraising events is down. We hope the new shops will help us to reach our fundraising target for 2013 and with the help and support of the people of Mayo we are confident that this will happen.”

The shops will stock a range of good quality second hand items such as clothing, accessories, and bric-a-brac. If you would like to donate any of the above items, feel free to call to your nearest shop (details of exact locations can be obtained by calling 094 938 8666 ).

Unfortunately the shops cannot accept electrical goods due to insurance purposes.

The Castlebar shop public meeting is scheduled for Monday November 26 at 8pm in the Welcome Inn Hotel. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please attend. For more information call the Hospice Office, Knock, on 094 938 8666.
