Killocraun's drummers to feature on Late Late Toy Show

The drumming band from Killocraun National School, Crossmolina, are to perform on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday November 30.

The whole school play in the band and they have improved rapidly under the watchful eye of their tutor, Anthony McNamee from Westport.

The school is involved with Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, and members of the Board of Music Generation recently arrived in the school accompanied by the regional co-ordinator of Music Generation, Kate McKeon. Members of the VEC, personnel from the Music Education partnerships, and Councillor Jarlath Munnelly were also in attendance. The most high profile guest in attendance was none other than renowned composer, producer, and arranger Bill Whelan.

Bill was welcomed by Catherine Canny, principal, along with the staff and pupils of Killocraun. He listened intently to the children's drumming performance and praised them generously on their high standards of musicianship.

The pupils are wished well on their performance.
