A woman in her fifties from Knockmore was killed in a two vehicle car accident on Tuesday November 20 on the Foxford to Ballina road.
Bernadette Langan, Currabaggan East, Knockmore, died after the collision which occurred around 9.20pm at Armstrong’s Corner, which is approximately three miles outside Foxford.
The drivers were the only occupants in each car.
The road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions were put in place. The road was reopened on Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have been on the Foxford to Ballina road between 9pm and 9.30pm are asked to contact Swinford Garda Station on 094 925 2990, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
The married mother of three will be laid to rest on Saturday. Funeral Mass will take place at 11.30am at the Church of Christ the King. Burial afterwards in Ballinahaglish Cemetery.
