Paul Durcan brings his poetry to the stage

Paul Durcan, one of Ireland’s foremost and most prolific poets, returns to his Mayo roots for one of his legendary readings at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday, December 5 at 8pm.

Surreal, idiosyncratic, iconoclastic and full of quirky roguishness, Paul Durcan has carved out a distinctive status that straddles critical acclaim and popularity, a rare achievement in the world of poetry. With a back catalogue that includes A Snail in my Prime, Crazy About Women, Greetings to Our Friends in Brazil, the Whitbread Prize-winning Daddy, Daddy, and Cries of an Irish Caveman, his recently published 22nd collection Praise in Which I Live and Move and Have My Being has confirmed that Durcan remains one of the most potent voices in contemporary poetry.
