County Mayo is strongly represented at this year’s Good Food Ireland Awards which will take place on Tuesday November 20 at The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin. These awards celebrate the best of Irish food and focus on Irish ingredient-led cuisine and artisan food production. An Taoiseach Enda Kenny is guest of honour at this year’s awards, which will be hosted by RTÉ’s Mary Kennedy.

Café Rua and Foxford Woollen Mills Café and Foodhall have been shortlisted for Café of the Year, The Foodstore in Ballyhaunis has been shortlisted for the Local Food Shop of the Year, and Café Le Cheile, An Port Mor, and Enoteca for Newcomer of the Year. The winners will reflect the core ethos of Good Food Ireland, which is to provide a quality authentic Irish food experience.

Margaret Jeffares, MD of Good Food Ireland, said: “These unique awards continue to recognise the many Irish food innovators that have helped to shape our vibrant food and hospitality sectors. The conference, beforehand, will provide a practical insight into how businesses can optimise their online presence and use of social media to attract new customers.”
