Breaffy student prepares for Ghana charity mission

Katherine Hall from Breaffy, Castlebar, a 20-year-old second year law student in DCU, is participating with a group of 20 students from all over Ireland in the Global Brigades’ Water Brigade to Ghana on January 26 2013.

Katherine is the daughter of John and Lorraine Hall of The Cleaning Corporation.

Katherine will be holding a number of events over the next couple of months to raise much needed funds for the charity and is appealing for support and sponsorship. Any contribution to the fund no matter how small is very much appreciated.

There are three ways to support Katherine: Direct donation by cash or cheque, by supporting fundraising events, or donate directly online at http://www.empowered.org/DCU---Water-Brigade---Ghana---January-2013/donate

Global Brigades Ireland was officially incorporated in 2010 after a very successful business brigade to Panama in which the student leaders worked closely with a group of chicken farmers to develop their enterprise.

Global Brigades Ireland sends Irish university students on 10 day brigades to Ghana, Panama, and Honduras, offering brigades in all nine of Global Brigades’ programmes: Architecture, business, dental, environmental, medical, microfinance, public health, and water. Global Brigades Ireland is currently expanding – setting up societies in many Irish third level institutions.
