St Colman’s College in Claremorris have launched their Who wants to be a Thousandaire? fundraiser.
Funds received will go towards the development of facilities and resources in the college including the installation of campus-wide Wi-Fi infrastructure, the provision of additional training areas, parking, and play areas on college grounds.
At the launch Gerry Concannon of CBE paid tribute to the voluntary committee who were behind the initiative. Deputy principal Roy Hession thanked local businesses, the organising committee, the school staff, and in particular Brendan Conroy who designed the advertising powerpoint presentation for the night. He also paid special tribute to the eight major sponsors including Hillside Service Station and Tyre Centre, Chique Skincare and Beauty, Fleet Transport, Cummins’ Homevalue, Frank McNabb, Retail Solutions, Homecare Medical Supplies, and Sutton’s Oil.
The fundraiser will take place in the McWilliam Park Hotel, on Friday, November 16. Contestants are drawn from ticket sales and each contestant will have a chance to win up to €1,000 on the night. The show is fully computerised with 50/50, Ask the Audience, and a Phone a Friend option. The questions and four possible answers are displayed on two 8ft x 6ft screens, one at each side of the stage.
Tickets for Who Wants to be a Thousandaire? are now on sale and are available from any member of the fundraising committee and from the college. Tickets are €15 and the purchaser or his/her nominee can opt to participate in the show as a contestant on the night.
