Listeners to Today FM’s lunchtime show will be saying good-bye soon to Ballina’s Ray Foley, when he heads to 98FM to take up hosting duties on their breakfast show. But as one Mayo man departs the prestigious slot another will seamlessly slip and take-over the national airwaves during lunchtime.
Breaffy, man Keith Cunningham (KC as he goes by on the wireless ) was announced this week as the man who will be replacing Foley on the air. Cunningham started off his broadcasting career on pirate radio in Castlebar back in the 1990s, before cutting us his teeth in local radio in Mayo, Galway and Dublin, and then moving to Cork where he really made his name with the Red Rooster breakfast show on Cork’s Red FM, where he picked up numerous PPI awards for his shows. From there he moved to Today FM where he currently presents a show from 7pm to 9pm, Monday to Thursday. After the announcement that he would be taking over Foley’s slot, Cunningham took to Facebook to say: “Just want to wish Ray Foley and JP the very best with their news show. I'm delighted to announce that I'll be taking over the show in a few weeks. I'm genuinely honoured.”
