If you are a craft worker or designer in County Mayo who wishes to maximise your marketing potential why not become part of a creative and business-focused network where your craft can be encouraged and promoted?
Craftworks Mayo was established in March 2012 as a not for profit network of local craftworkers to champion and promote quality assessed art, craft and design in Mayo; and today they are putting out an open call for new members. This community-based project is all about instilling pride and passion in local crafts people as well as providing a platform for Mayo craft workers to market their quality assessed work on a national and international stage.
The network brings together 28 of the most talented craft businesses in the county who share the drive to raise their profile, and upskill in areas such as product development and marketing with the ultimate goal of increasing sales for their businesses. The closing date for applications is Monday November 12.
Craftworks Mayo will be officially launched with a spectacular winter wonderland Mayo Craft Showcase on Friday November 16 from 5pm to 9pm and Saturday 17 from 10am to 6pm, at The Wyatt Hotel, Octagon, Westport.
Craftworks Mayo has the backing of South West Mayo Development Company Ltd, Mayo County Enterprise Board, the CISNET project, Mayo County Development Board, Mayo County Council Arts Office, North Mayo East and Gnó Mhaigh Eo who are working together to support this county based young and vibrant initiative to promote and motivate local craft workers, giving them a stronger presence in the marketplace and encouraging people to support locally made craft.
