The Linenhall brings back some more top trad

Top musicians Dermot Byrne, Floriane Blancke and Castlebar’s own Brendan O'Regan perform at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday November 7 at 8pm. (Please note rescheduled performance date. )

Dermot Byrne is one of Ireland's most accomplished accordion players. A member of Altan from 1994, Dermot also has numerous duet and solo albums to his credit, and his effortless playing, combined with great subtlety, and a faultless ear, makes him one of the great accordion players of his generation. Born in Paris, Floriane Blancke is a talented harpist, fiddler, pianist and vocalist who has been embraced into Irish Traditional music circles over the past numbers of years, with a versatility that has also seen her performing with the likes of Shane McGowan and Patti Smith. Floriane and Dermot have just released a critically acclaimed eponymous duet album (co-produced by Brendan O’Regan ), which features their delectable choice of material from all corners of the globe. Brendan O’Regan’s name is synonymous with some of the best instrumental recordings made in Ireland to date, has worked with musicians including De Dannan, The Waterboys, Mary Black, Dolores Keane, John Prine and Townes Van Zandt and has scored for numerous productions with Druid Theatre and The Abbey Theatre. Together this potent trio present material off the new album and beyond in a musical evening guaranteed to thrill and engage.
