A 22-year-old unemployed man who was found in possession of cannabis following a search of his rented house, was convicted and fined at Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
Keith Devine, Carranaclough, Bonniconlon, Ballina, admitted that the cannabis found in the house search, which took place on January 13 2012, was his.
The defendant, who has no previous convictions, did not assist gardaí as to where he got the cannabis.
Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined him €200.
