Ballina councillor Annie May Reape is encouraging people across the county to avail of a free electrial and electronic recycling event which is taking place tomorrow (Saturday, October 6 ) at three venues in Mayo.
Cllr Reape said: “Mayo County Council is supporting this initiative and is endeavouring to encourage as many people as possible to avail of this special collection.”
The event presents householders with an opportunity to recycle anything with a plug or a battery which is at the end of its useful life – large or small. Also, all types of batteries and energy saving light-bulbs may be recycled. All waste electrical and electronic equipment collected on the day will be transported to WEEE Ireland’s approved recycling facilities.
People can avail of this service between 10am and 4pm at the following venues Swinford (Tesco carpark ), Ballina (Humbert Street carpark ), and Charlestown (O’Hara Park GAA Grounds ).
