Lots of drop in event coming up at the Museum of Country Life

Next Friday, October 5, from 11am to 1pm, the knitting circle kicks into action for the month. As always this is a drop in event and no booking is required. The following day, from 11am to 4pm, it is the turn of the Connacht Textile Crafters to put on a felt needling demonstration. Also taking place on Saturday October 6 and every first Saturday of the month is Play That Tune a drop in trad event where everyone is invited to go along and play a few tunes.

On Saturday, October 13, the Mayo Genealogy Group will be holding a drop in event with free practical tips from 11am to 1pm.

Also taking place over the next few weeks are a number of schools programmes. They will start next Tuesday, October 4, with a talk from Vivienne Martin who works in the high end fashion and jewellery world and would be of interest for art students interested in this type of work. She will hold two talks, one from 10am to 11.30am and another from 12.30pm to 2pm.

On Friday, October 19, there will be a meet the craftsperson event where a number of different craftspeople will on hand to explain their work to students. The talks will take place at 10.30am and 12.30pm.
