The Achill Artists group is a collective of visual artists based on Achill, who have organised a series of seven group exhibitions over 12 years, each containing new works in sculpture, painting, printmaking, and video.
These exhibitions are important for the participating artists, and for the community on Achill, and continue to build on the traditional importance of the visual arts on the island. This exhibition always proves extremely popular with a diverse wide arts and non-arts audience and is of particular interest to visitors seeking the cultural heritage and traditions of the island.
The exhibition will be officially opened on Saturday September 29 at 6pm by Minister of State Dinny McGinley at the Andrew Stone Gallery, Westport.
Exhibition to include works by Ronan Halpin, Mary Lavelle Burke, John Mc Hugh, Amanda McMahon, Margo McNulty, Margaret Morrisson, Willim van Goor, Frances van Miele, and Antic Ham. Exhibition will run until October 13.
