The Fr Patrick Peyton’s CSC Memorial Centre, Attymass was one of the charities presented with a cheque of €13,500 following the sell-out event Notre Dame, A Welcome Home; Pep Rally in the O2 at the end of August. More than $150,000 (€121,500 ) was raised and eight charities were presented with cheques of €13,500 by Miriam O’Callaghan and Neil Naughton of Glen Dimplex, at a presentation in O’Connell House.
The total cost involved in the production of the Notre Dame PEP Rally, at the O2 was underwritten by the Glen Dimplex Group and the door receipts from the event were donated directly to the eight local Irish charities.
Commenting at the presentation at O’Connell House, the home of Notre Dame, Dublin, Neil Naughton of Glen Dimplex said, “The charities selected reflect Notre Dame’s community based learning programme in Ireland in which the Dublin based students share their gift of volunteering with each group; allowing the students to see Irish life from the inside out and Glen Dimplex were proud sponsors of the event.”
The Peyton Memorial Centre was founded in 1998 to continue the mission of Fr Patrick Peyton, CSC, ‘The Rosary Priest’. The centre continues the work of Fr Peyton in the promotion of prayer, especially family prayer, and the Rosary. To fulfil these goals, the centre works with schools, adult spiritual renewal courses, retreats, pastoral meetings, and personal spiritual counselling.
