Mayo Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony is calling for the placement of airport symbols for Ireland West Airport, Knock, on all major signposts in Mayo towns.
Deputy O’Mahony said the absence of the airport symbol on signposts is not an issue for Mayo people but for tourists it can prove to be a problem. “What I would like to see is the symbol for the airport on signposts as people are exiting towns. I am aware that it is included on signposts in towns close to the airport but in my opinion it should be on all major signs in the county.
“There is nothing worse for tourists than to be uncertain about finding their way to an airport. It can be stressful enough for people without the added issue of not being sure about the direction they have to travel in.”
