Mayo’s first foetal alcohol awareness day will take place today (Friday September 7 ) to spread the word that alcohol and pregnancy do not mix.
It will be launched in the foyer of Mayo General Hospital at 10.30am led by Edith Geraghty, director WRDTF, and Frances Burke, childbirth educator with the HSE.
The awareness campaign is an initiative by Western Region Drugs Task Force, South West Mayo Development Company, Mayo General Hospital, and HSE West Community Partners.
