There is a night of classical gold on the cards when ConTempo String Quartet and top Irish guitarist John Feeley perform at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Thursday, September 20, at 8pm as part of Galway Music Residency’s 10th year anniversary celebrations.
The Galway Music Residency is the oldest residency programme in Ireland and the only one of its kind in existence in this country. It has served the people of Galway and beyond with performances, master-classes, workshops, and more. ConTempo String Quartet from Romania has been at the heart of the residency from the early days, moving to Galway as four young twenty-somethings and now 10 years later living permanently in Galway. To mark this milestone, The Galway Music Residency has invited some musicians who have worked with ConTempo over the past 10 years to return for this celebratory tour. For this very special concert, ConTempo share the stage with John Feeley, acclaimed by The Washington Post as “Ireland's leading classical guitarist”.
