With Ireland thrust into the spotlight over the past 12 months as a top visitor destination, helped along by recent high-profile visits from Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama, it is now time for local businesses to shine. The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM ) Ireland is calling on all businesses from all over the country to enter the acclaimed CIM Marketing Excellence Awards Ireland 2012 to showcase their winning marketing campaigns, before the deadline on September 11.
The annual awards competition, now in its 13th year, provides an opportunity to champion and reward marketing and sales excellence from across the island of Ireland and shows the positive impact individual organisations have had within their particular industries.
There are 16 award categories that take into account industry, campaign, and individual achievements. CIM is encouraging businesses from all industry sectors to enter the awards, which are free to enter.
Winners will be recognised by CIM, the leading international professional marketing body, at an exciting awards ceremony, taking place in the acclaimed Titanic Belfast visitor attraction on November 7, supported by key business partners Invest NI, Kantar Media and Pinnacle & Sage with event support from Belleek Living, Eyesparks, Stakeholder, Press Eye, and Titanic Belfast as venue partner.
CIM Ireland chairman, John Edmund Hon FCIM, said: “In the midst of tough economic times and a challenging global marketplace, we are confident that Ireland boasts many ‘stand out’ organisations that have implemented successful marketing plans and are going above and beyond expectations to meet their customer needs.
“We have witnessed some outstanding marketing campaigns over the last 12 months and CIM is looking forward to exploring how these were conceptualised, delivered, and evaluated. Last year the awards competition attracted a record number of entries and we expect that, with the exciting year Ireland has had, there will be many more companies that will want to be recognised for their marketing success; after all, it is only what the professionalism and the hard work of the sales and marketing practitioners who have delivered these campaigns deserve, and research shows that customers take note of competition success in building their supply chain.”
Last year’s winner of three awards, Claire McCrea, marketing manager, Whale (Munster Simms Engineering Ltd ), added: “We are extremely proud to have been recognised by CIM by winning three Ireland Marketing Excellence Awards in 2011 and we have seen significant and real benefits to our business. By simply entering the awards we benefited from a marketing health check and winning the awards has led to increased productivity, boosted confidence within our teams, developed brand and reputation enhancement, and helped secure new business opportunities.
“Receiving the awards also reflects the huge efforts of our dedicated and creative marketing, commercial and design teams, and it was great to be recognised for the effort we put in on a daily basis.”
