Ireland is famous all over the world for its one hundred thousand welcomes and now JCI Mayo in association with the Mayo Advertiser is on the hunt for Mayo’s friendliest businesses. This is the second year of JCI Mayo and the Mayo Advertiser partnership in the search to find Mayo’s friendliest businesses following on from a very successful inaugural competition which saw 19 finalists attend an awards luncheon at the Harlequin Hotel, Castlebar.
Do you know a business that makes you smile every time you use their service? If you do, don’t keep it a secret, nominate them as a JCI friendly business.
JCI Mayo and the Mayo Advertiser recognise the important role that local industry plays in the continuous development and improvement of our country. The project aims to award friendly businesses, who go that extra mile and provide an outstanding customer service for their clients and their community. It is particularly important in this economic environment to highlight businesses that don't allow their standards to slip and continue to provide quality services.
Derek Reilly, President of JCI Mayo explained: “With the current pinch in the economy it is so important for businesses to be able to set themselves apart from their competitors. These businesses who go that little bit further will survive and thrive when the economy picks up.”
Fergal O’Connor, Mayo Advertiser Sales Manager added: “The Mayo Advertiser understands the difficulties that businesses are facing but more importantly how quality customer service gives your business the edge. This is just another way that the Mayo Advertiser is trying to inform the businesses of Mayo and our 63,000 readers about what fantastic service business in Mayo give their customers.”
The friendliest business in Mayo will be judged on the following criteria: 1 Customer Care/Friendliness, 2 Eco Friendliness, 3 Shop layout and design, 4 Disability access. These four categories are key contributors to making up a business that has the customer at the centre of their business.
Friendly Business Awards are mainly focused on physical business evaluation. Recognising continuous progress and innovation JCI Mayo and the Mayo Advertiser are introducing a new Friendly Digital category which will be judged on the following criteria: Social media presence, responsiveness, and usability.
There will be five category winners and an overall winner who will be crowned at an awards lunch in the Harlequin Hotel, Castlebar on August 31. The overall winner will go on to represent Mayo at the National JCI Conference Awards night in Westport in October.
The closing date for the competition is August 17. More information about the project can be found on the JCI Mayo Facebook Page.
