Members of Castlebar Men’s Shed at Moneen Enterprise Centre, Castlebar, (located near Mayo Movie World ) held their first meeting this week and opened their doors to the public.
Chairman Michael McTigue welcomed all who attended including local Councillors Michael Kilcoyne, Blackie Gavin, Brendan Henaghan, Ger Deere and Harry Barrett.
Castlebar Men’s Shed group is now welcoming new members from 18 years to senior active who have free time and want to be involved in an activity, their own project or in a group activity with fellow members. They will have work space, support and also time to chat and have a cuppa.
In fitting out the workspace for the Men’s Shed the group would appreciate receiving any unwanted work tools or a donation of any surplus tools from DIY outlets and would like to acknowledge the continued support of the HSE, the town and county councils, Le Cheile FRC and local businesses like Elvery’s, Albany and charitable organisations and general public who continue to support the project.
The Men’s Shed group have already identified a number of local activities that their members will be keen to lend support to and provide some volunteer work time.
So men, if you have free time, want to get involved, come along and bring any unused work tool, you will enjoy the crack, the company and the display of your work skills.
You can contact Castlebar Men’s Shed by email at [email protected] or call Michael on 086 375 7648 or Patsy on 083 402 4765.
