The body of a 56-year-old Westport woman who had been missing was discovered by gardai on Tuesday July 3, at 8pm. Gardai confirmed that the body recovered from the water in the Quay in Westport was that of Nan Reilly, late of The Elms, Westport, who had been missing from her home for a number of days. The last contact with her had been by telephone on the morning of Friday, June 28. Gardai had been searching for her since the alarm was raised. Gardai are not treating her death as suspicious.
