Tommy Tiernan’s World Tour of Mayo

Buffalo Country with the wide open skies, Tommy is delighted to be back in the county of Mayo. It is Tiernan country too, with relatives all over, from Cong to Kilmaine and to Louisburgh, the roots go deep here. Tommy comes from a long line of Mayo teachers, farmers, and priests. One of his forebears set up the first school in the county and for that Tommy would like to apologise. He has always felt especially at home here and considers it a homecoming of the ancestral sort.

Tommy’s mastery of stand-up allows him to take risks other comedians dare not. Through hilarious storytelling and a high energy, non-apologetic, delivery he continually challenges his audience who can be confident they are in safe hands. To see Tiernan live is a rare treat, as his stories unfold and themes are elaborated his performance mesmerises as his lyrical way with words make you laugh harder than you would ever believe possible.

Tommy’s World Tour of Mayo kicks off on August 2 in the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris, then on to Hotel Newport on August 3, Hotel Ballina on August 4, and the Park Hotel Kiltimagh on August 5. After a few days off then he hits the Castlecourt on August 9, The Linenhall Arts Centre on August 10 before he heads north to the Gateway Leisure Centre in Belmullet and he rounds off the tour in Lisloughrey Lodge on August 12. Tickets cost €28 and are available from venues and from www.ticketmaster.ie
