Ballina Arts Centre to host famous Tibetan chanteuse

During Ballina Salmon Festival week, Ballina Arts Centre is delighted to present a rare opportunity to witness the Tibetan singer Yungchen Lhamo in concert.

Yungchen Lhamo has performed in more than 70 countries around the globe – from Sydney Opera House to New York’s Carnegie Hall, and now she is coming to enchant music lovers in Ballina. For this special concert she will be joined by Irish folk and traditional music legend Donal Lunny. Donal Lunny has been at the forefront of Irish music since the 1960s, from the early days of the Emmet Spiceland, through Planxty and the Bothy Band in the 1970s right through Moving Hearts, Mozaik, and his various solo projects. He has collaborated with and produced many artists and groups, and his percussive style of playing guitar and bouzouki has influenced the sound of contemporary Irish folk music.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the concert starts at 8pm. Tickets cost: €18/15 and booking is advised.
