Indiscriminate dumping of building materials in an area of Riverdale Court has angered residents.
A residents’ spokesperson stated: “This dumping has occurred over the last number of months. Some weeks ago a bucket containing a building product was found thrown over the perimeter fence between the town park and Riverdale Court.
“The bucket was retrieved by residents and its contents disposed of correctly. The product was a mortar type substance of a readymix nature. With limited building work going on in the town we are confident it should be easy to track down the culprit because not too many building contractors in the area would be using this type of product.
“On Monday morning last a resident observed that a small quantity of what appeard to be wash out of a concrete mixer or wheel barrow, was thrown on the grass and up against the perimeter fence. The person or persons that are engaging in this indiscriminate dumping has little respect for the area and little respect for the residents. But the residents association is confident with the ongoing inquiries the culprit will be tracked down and prosecuted,” the spokesperson concluded.
