A man who was threatening and abusive in a public place was before Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
Gardaí were called to an assault at Oakwood Drive, Ballina, on May 28 2012 at 3.15pm. Two brothers had been in an argument, and one of the men had sustained an injury to his hand.
Their brother John Lawrence, 3 Rehins Fort, Foxford Road, Ballina, arrived at the scene and began shouting at one of them that he was going to kill him. He refused to leave the area when directed by gardaí and continued to make threats to kill his brother. Lawrence also shouted at gardaí.
Judge Mary Devins applied the Probation Act and directed that he contribute €50 to Western Alzheimers.
