The next meeting of the Mayo Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD ) Support Group will be held in the Travellers Friend Hotel, Castlebar (opposite Mayo General Hospital ) at 3pm on Thursday June 28. A short demonstration on pulmonary rehabilitation exercises will be given at this meeting of the support group.
COPD is a progressive disease that makes it difficult to breathe. It is a catch-all term for common and very serious conditions such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and chronic asthma, and can progressively worsen over time.
The meeting will provide an ideal opportunity for people with COPD and their families to discuss ways of making people more aware of COPD, and how to cope with this debilitating disease.
