Coláiste Deirbhle Leaving Certificate Irish 2013 preparatory course

Let the Gaeltacht come to you this summer. It may be 'the Galltacht' (predominantly English speaking area ) but set at the foot of Nephin, overlooking Lough Conn, Coláiste Deirbhle is a great place to improve your native mother tongue.

Qualified and experienced Irish teachers, having grown up in the Gaeltacht and taught for many years in Gaeltacht summer collages, are offering a one week preparatory course for Higher and Ordinary Level Leaving Cert Irish, which takes into consideration the fact that the Irish oral for the new Leaving Cert Irish syllabus is now worth 40 per cent of all marks.

The five day course will run from Monday July 23 to Friday July 27 from 9.30am to 2.30pm. On leaving the course students will have covered poetry, prose, essays, grammar, comprehensions and aural, not to mention oral work, with a guarantee of increased confidence in regard to writing essays, listening and interpreting conversations, and speaking the language ‘mar teanga beatha’ (mar a dúirt Pádraig mac Piaras ).

Students will also receive a CD and booklet especially designed to help prepare for the oral over the following 10 months as well as notes, sample essays, and sample answers.
