The Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar has announced its extremely popular programme of summer arts workshops for young people. As usual, booking has been red hot, but there are still places available. Here’s a taster of what’s on offer:
Bugs Alive! From Tuesday July 17 to Thursday July 19 from, 11am to 2.30pm daily. Crawl through the undergrowth in your imagination into the world of creepy crawlies, bugs, beetles and bees, pick a few and make them and their environment using a variety of skills and materials in this in-depth three-day visual exploration. The workshop costs €20 and is for seven to 12-year-olds.
From Tuesday, July 24 to Thursday July 26 go Under and Over the Sea from 11am to 2.30pm daily. This is a multimedia project exploring the theme of a sea voyage using a wide range of art techniques including print-making, drawing, construction and painting. The workshop costs €20 and is for seven to 12-year-olds.
Other workshops that will run in the Linenhall include Your Game, Your Team on Thursday July 12, Shadows and Light on Wednesday, July 11 Shadows and Light from 11am to 2.30pm.
