The desire for a tan in Ireland, when the sun finally does appear, is so strong, that 77 per cent of women and men risk their health by not applying any sunscreen when out and about on their lunch hour, a time when the sun’s harmful rays are at peak danger levels.
In a new iReach survey commissioned by leading French skincare brand Eau Thermale Avène, it was also found that in spite of 85 per cent saying they use sun protection to protect skin, prevent premature ageing and skin cancer, a shockingly high 53 per cent admit they have been sunburnt in the past five ears.
To ensure maximum sun protection, Eau Thermale Avène offer two lines of broad spectrum suncare, a White and Orange line to ensure every skin type enjoys maximum protection from the sun’s harmful rays.
The Avène Orange suncare line offers an exclusive complex of mineral, organic, and chemical suncreens that offers a full broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection that skin soaks up and is ideal for normal to sensitive skin types including children.
The range is available from Unicare, Claremorris; O’Donnell’s, Westport; and Foody’s Pharmacy, Ballina.
