Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring officially launched the Clew Bay Garden Trail on Friday last. The concept of the trail was drawn up by a number of local residents and garden enthusiasts and gives a unique opportunity to visitors and local people to view a varied selection of private gardens in Mayo.
Minister Ring said: “I wish to congratulate everyone involved in this venture. It is a wonderful idea and will be an attraction for visitors and locals alike. Those private gardens will be open to the public on selected dates so that anybody with an interest in gardening can visit the gardens and get inspiration and ideas.
“Each garden on the trail is unique in its location, content, and structure. This is a novel concept and one that will greatly enhance the visitor attractions already available in the Clew Bay area.
“I wish those involved in the Clew Bay Garden Trail every success with this venture and compliment them on making their gardens available to help promote this region.”
