With the summer fast approaching, the final pieces are being put in place for the Ballina Salmon Festival which promises to have something for all the family with its varied and exciting programme of events.
The festival is kick started on Saturday July 7 with the Powerade Salmon Run Triathlon on the River Moy, while Sunday afternoon will feature the ever popular Honda Step Thru and Costume and Classic Bike Show in the market square—this is an event not to be missed.
On Sunday night the prestigious Lady of the Moy will be held in The Downhill House Hotel. The week would not be the same without having the Lady of the Moy to represent the festival.
On Monday night, with a first prize of €1,000, is the ever popular Mayo’s Got Talent in Hotel Ballina. This event has it all from singing, dancing, and juggling; there is something for everyone.
With a jam-packed calendar of events such as the Teddy Bears Picnic, the spectacular fireworks display, music on the street, Heritage Day, Crazy Kart Challenge, and an extensive children’s programme, it is all happening in Ballina this July.
This year under the leadership of the festival’s chairperson Liz Culkin it is hoped to build on the festival, which has gone from strength to strength.
A week of entertainment, fun, excitement, and exhilaration takes place from July 7 to 15.
The festival committee would like to thank all their sponsors and support from the community.
