Asthma still claiming one life a week in Ireland

The Asthma Society of Ireland marked World Asthma Day, May 1, with a campaign to highlight the ongoing tragedy of deaths from asthma in Ireland and the launch of its new asthma emergency information pack.

With one in 10 people in Ireland affected by this inflammatory lung condition everyone should know how to respond in an emergency situation. The new asthma attack card is available free of charge to patients, healthcare professionals, schools, and sporting organisations and can be ordered by calling 1850 44 54 64 or downloaded at www.asthmasociety.ie
