Cllr Hyland asked that the installation of a CTTV system for the town be moved “at a faster pace”.
Cllr Staunton agreed and said that as the town has money set aside in its budget for CCTV that it should be spent.
Cllr Michael McLaughlin said that “now more than ever” it is essential that the town has CCTV due to the number of burglaries in the area over the past few months.
The town clerk said that the council is working with gardaí in relation to a Garda funding application and Ms Moore also said that the local chamber of commerce has also contacted the council in relation to the provision of a scheme..
